Cool Rides
I thought it would be cool to include some pictures of some truly cool rides I have come across either on the snow or on the net. So without any particular order here are some cool rides with my reasons for being on here ...
Firecat "General Lee"

Ok , I know some of you may find it cheesy, but for a guy that was a kid in the 80's this sled wins the award for the coolest Firecat. All he needs is a buddy named Roscoe P. Coltrane driving a Polaris painted up like a Hazard county cruiser in hot pursuit! |
Fighter Pilot

I hated this limited edition Firecat at first. However as time wore on they grew on me. Now as far as I am concerned, they are the coolest of the limited builds AC has ever offered. This would be my choice of any limited edition Firecat. That is ... if I could ever find one. They are very rare. |
Yamaha Vector

I know it looks out of place on my site, however I want to get a test ride on this sled. I think the fact the engine does not need gear reduction for clutching makes this the closest to a true high performance 4-stroke snowmobile. 120 hp and rpm range of 8500 rpm. Of course I am still loyal to the cat and the T660st is an awesome 4 stroke, I just feel this is the benchmark right now! They have that fabulous fit and finish that Yamaha is known for and now they are supposed to handle and ride decent as well, if I had to ever leave Cat it would be my next choice. |
T660 Turbo ST

Ok, Ok, you are probably jumping to conclusions thinking "OMG, Troy has lost his mind, he is being won over by 4 stroke power" Well ...no, not yet anyway. I do however appreciate the sleds that Cat and Yamaha have come out with. I think two strokes can be made much much cleaner and as a result will always be my choice for sled power. The appeal of these two sleds cannot be denied. I just wish AC would ditch the red and replace it with green and go with black stripes instead of white. |
Redline Revolt 800
![]() |
Redline ... Huh? who are they? Do they make snowmobiles? I have been following this upstart manufacturer since I first heard of them in the fall of 1999. Their first offering a full 6 years later seems like it will be a good one. Only one problem, what was extremely revolutionary in 2000 does not seem quite that way now. Still I look forward to hearing more reports. For a ride report please go here |
Flamed ZR 800

This sled was posted by it's owner on HCS. This thing is unbelievable and belongs on here on merit of the attention to detail alone. Flamed hood, flamed boss flat-top seat and totally clean 800 big bore under the hood. Perhaps the best custom I have seen in a while ...see motor below. |

As you can see it's as pretty on the inside as it is on the outside! This HCS member is from New Brunswick, Canada. I would love to come across the thing on the trails! |
HCS Member 94Wildcat - his ride
![]() |
A Harcore sledder member emailed me wanting to know if I wanted to post his ride, since he obviously has great taste in sleds, I had no choice but to oblige. This 1994 Wildcat 700 efi is a beauty. I loved the lightning bolt graphics, and the juice brake. These are a rare sled as a lot of guys bought the ZR 700 that year. IMO the Wildcat was a lot nicer looking sled. |
